Ketogenic Lifestyle: Week 29

Today, August 6th, 2017, marks the beginning of my 29th week of utilizing the ketogenic diet in my everyday life. If you missed my first post and are unsure of what the ketogenic diet is, please feel free to start here.. My Ketogenic Journey – The Beginning

I’d like to share three of my favorite personal scale and non-scale victories that I have experienced along the way.

1) No soda!
I have not had a single sip of Diet Coke since January 15th. Anyone who knows me personally knows that Diet Coke was my vice. So of course I did miss having it on a regular basis (old habits are SO hard to break) so I supplemented with carbonated flavored water, and that fizzy kick really helped me get through for a while. Recently I’ve realized that sucralose has caused me to stall in my weight loss so now I am strictly coffee, tea & plain ol’ water.

2) 100 lbs lost!
I started getting close to my original weight loss goal is the beginning of May 2017. I fasted a regular 16:8 the entire week before my sister-in-law’s wedding simply for bragging rights of losing 75 lbs! In July, I finally hit my goal of losing 100 lbs. It seems so unreal that I did that in 26 weeks but the proof is in the sugar free pudding! (:

3) Non Scale Victory: Wedding Dress Success!
My dear husband and I got married on July 17, 2010 in a small ceremony with only our immediate family in attendance. My dress was exactly what I imagined, nothing fancy or traditional. It has since moved with us over the years never leaving its protective wrap, hanging in various closets. This year on our 7th wedding anniversary, I was able to revisit and wear my wedding dress! Even though I didn’t attempt to put it on before this day, I can say with full confidence that it would not have fit me in the beginning of 2017. I’ve included a photo for reference!
